45 Our Current Board… John Della Bosca - Chair Throughout his professional career and personal life, John has maintained a strong interest in policy development and disability. He has demonstrated this through his leadership of large progressive organisations such as the General Secretary of the ALP, as a social reformer including in the drug and alcohol area while a Minister in the NSW Government. Later as an advocate for the disadvantaged and marginalized he has had successes in changing government positions, the most outstanding example being his role as Every Australian Counts Campaign Director. John has been Chair of the Board of Family Drug Support since 2011. Anne Carroll - Treasurer Anne first became involved with Family Drug Support in 2002 when supporting a family member who was using drugs. She joined the Board in 2013, also serving as Treasurer. Anne is an experienced Board member and serves on several not-for-profit boards. She is also a Registered Nurse. Liz Wells - Board Member Throughout her life, Raewyn has volunteered and created projects to assist individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by poverty, stigma and social injustice or drug and alcohol use. She has a focused understanding and commitment to Harm Reduction, Social Justice and the Family Drug Support model. Liz was a volunteer on the Support Line from 2004-2021. Her initial contact with FDS came when she was supporting a family member who was using alcohol and drugs. She loved her time on the line over those 17 years, being able to provide a listening ear to people seeking support. Liz enjoyed her work with families as a Stepping Stones Leader from 2008-2020, and as a facilitator at many support meetings in Sydney. From 2002-2012 Liz was a volunteer at Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, working with profoundly disabled children. Liz attained her Bachelor of Counselling and Human Change after studying at the Jansen Newman Institute (2007).
