36 FDS Volunteer Training – Weekend… The annual volunteer training workshop is an opportunity for Family Drug Support volunteers and staff to: o Be provided with new up-to-date information relevant to their role, including presentations by professionals in the sector o Meet and Network with other FDS volunteers and staff o Maintain and develop new skills As it is important for group connection and to upskill the majority of volunteers nationally over the course of one weekend to have high rates of attendance when we run our annual workshop. Due to increased costs of flights and accommodation, venue availability (increased demand for bookings post COVID peaks), and an ongoing reluctance by some to socially gather, FDS made the decision to defer our annual workshop to the 2023-2024 financial year.
