Harm Reduction International convenes this conference every two years in a different international city. The last time it was held in Melbourne was 2004 and FDS attended and presented at this years HR23 Conference. It was great to catch up with international leaders in the harm reduction field and we were particularly be allocated two sessions to speak on the importance of families. This conference allowed FDS staff to expand on their knowledge and to network. FDS held a workshop where the theme was ‘Support the Family – Improve the Outcome” where we explored how to engage with families affected by substance use, using the FDS models. FDS also hosted a session in the Dialogue Space, where our CEO and Founder Tony Trimingham OAM, Chloe Span (Clinical Services Manager) and a family member had an interactive discussion on the history and future of harm reduction with a focus on keeping people safe and adolescent drug use.
