2 Launch of FDS Toowoomba, Queensland Tess Heming oowoomba is a city in the Darling Downs region of Southern Queensland; it has a population of approximately 175,000 and is located on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. Family Drug Support (FDS) was officially launched in the Darling Downs region in October. Our FDS Family Drug Support worker Tess was responsible for organizing the event and was joined by members of our NSW team, Renee Vincent and Cigdem Watson and our QLD team. We were fortunate enough to have Tony Trimingham, founder of FDS officially heading the launch, personally making the trip to the Downs and spending time with the community. Tony also represented FDS with his team visiting many services in the area. Beautiful floral displays at Queens Park, Toowoomba Tess has lived in Toowoomba for the past 25 years and has developed a trusting relationship with the local community and services. Tess’ passion for the AOD space comes from a lived experience and she feels privileged to be able to walk beside families in their journey, working towards removing negative stigma in the community and supporting families through their experiences. Family Drug Support Queensland have a great team led by Anna Daglish, the Clinical Services Manager for the region.
