Kerry Poem by SW (language warning) Deep in the cavities of my wounds I searched. And searched. For a place. A place to share my burden, My guilt, My weight. My sorrow The Aloneness The fear of what is of what became before of what will become of me Become of Us. My life, My Love, tattered & torn ensconced in lies, betrayal & mistrust Nowhere to go Nowhere to turn Buried in shame & denial for so long. A self loathing Why can’t I just fucking leave this mess? It’s not my problem It’s not my responsibility My heart tells me different My heart refuses to disconnect It’s not a will to rescue or save But my soul’s yearning to find calm amidst chaos The search continues. My heart pushes onwards. Onwards & onwards until I find a stepping stone. One small stepping stone. A stepping stone & much larger than anticipated. Large enough to hold me in a safe & loving space. A lifeline, A rope. An anchor, something for me to grip with both hands & hold on to. A stepping stone of HOPE where everything is okay. It’s all okay. I’m going to be okay!
