5 Obituary: Kath Ashton, OAM 29 December 1946 – 19 June 2022 amily Drug Support was saddened to hear that Kath Ashton, OAM had passed away. Kath joined FDS over 20 years ago and started running FDS Support Groups in Adelaide at that time. She became our State Manager in South Australia and held that position until she retired due to ill health 3 years ago. Kath had a very big heart, and she was passionate about the support she gave to families; hundreds of people benefitted from that support over the years. She was awarded an Order of Australia Medal and I have enormous respect for the work she did on our behalf. Kath had several years of health problems and many hundreds of people will be sorry to hear this news. Kath loved crime novels and she enjoyed reading about crime fighters such as Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch and John Rebus. I’m sorry to have lost a loving friend. Rest in Peace, Kath – you will be dearly missed. Tony Trimingham, OAM F
